Praiseworthy Notes

April 27, 2011

We have seen an increase in Mass attendance, which is FANTASTIC!  Also, the school families that have started using it this year have been more involved in parish life. Thanks to all Family Formation users who take the time to share the blessings its brought to their parish.  We appreciate your encouragement!

My parish, [in Washington] is printing copies for 90 Family Formation Home Lessons and 12 Little Lambs families per month. This is our first year using this program and we are finding so many blessings coming from this new format.  I cannot express to you how wonderful it is for me to see parents not only [...]

This just in from a distance parish: We had a tremendously grace filled night at Maternity of Mary last night.  The Saint Martin lessons were a BIG hit – the story, the activity – it was a great lesson. … Thank you and the team who put together these engaging lessons.  May God reward you!

Day trips that boost your faith!

August 2, 2010

Last week’s Catholic Spirit had a great article that fits well with our Super Summer Sacraments Scavenger Hunt.  Your Great Catholic Minnesota Road Trip is filled with ideas for trips within the state that will help you learn more about the Catholic heritage of the area while spending fun family time together (in affordable bites). In the past few months we’ve [...]

Mapping our growth!

July 13, 2010

Every month as part of our core group meeting we take time to pray by name for every parish currently using Family Formation for their K-6 religious education.  The growing length of the list is always impressive, but the visual learner in me especially likes seeing it all represented on this map!  Take a few minutes [...]

The purpose of catechesis

June 17, 2010

Did you have fun with the Sovereignty! game included in May’s Home Lesson on Jesus Christ, the Son?  If so, try playing it again sometime this summer.  There are questions for students at multiple levels and playing again will help you remember some basic facts about the life of Christ even better. The goal of [...]

Day trips

June 14, 2010

Not planning a vacation?  You can still have mini summer adventures each Sunday by attending nearby parishes with your Super Summer Sacraments Scavenger Hunt booklets.  You’ll be exposed to different music, homilies, architecture, and (if you’re really adventurous) languages, but no matter where you are you’ll gain an even greater appreciation of the unity of [...]

Thanks, Peoria!

June 13, 2010

Many thanks to the gracious diocese of Peoria for their invitation to speak and have vendor tables at their Summer Catechetical Institute. We were able to present a Basics of Family Formation workshop to catechists and DREs on both Friday and Saturday, and we talked  to many others who are interested in increasing parental involvement [...]
