The primary goal of Family Formation is to bring individuals and families to a greater love of Christ, but a logical outcome of that is typically a greater appreciation for the Church He established. We’ve seen it in our own parish and many others, including the commenters below, would agree that Family Formation builds up parish life!
We are seeing a higher percentage of our families attending Mass regularly. The adults claim to have learned more about their faith and have thus been able to share more in regard to the faith with their children.
Things are going so well here. I had to make only two calls this year to get enough catechists!
Our families feel like a strong community has evolved as a result of Family Catechesis and they are so happy to feel welcomed and at home.
Volunteer teachers always voice how they have grown in their own faith because of their involvement.
We are spread out over four rural parishes and we are growing a church family for our spread out, rural, young families.
And from a DRE who moved out of state but had no problem finding a replacement in the Core Group she established: “That’s what the program does … it raises up leaders!”
