Appreciating each other

Be sure to take time for this week’s activity, God Made Me Special.  It’s the kind of thing I might be tempted to skip, reasoning that I could never get my kids to take it seriously enough to make it worth my while.  (They do tend to be a little on the sarcastic side – I can’t imagine where they get it from…)

But of all the many activities Family Formation does throughout its three-year cycle, I always get positive comments from families on this one.  It’s a chance (an assignment, if you will) to appreciate one another.  It’s a chance to let down your guard and be just a little sappy, and truly honest about what you value in each other.  Parents say they’re surprised at what they learn, and siblings find out all sorts of nice things about each other.  Kids tend to save these little cards in special places where they can re-read them from time to time, and I hope you’ll have a similar experience.

This is one occasion where you’ll definitely want to get your whole family involved, no matter what their age!
