This month’s memory verse for K-3rd graders is the Glory Be:
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
If your kids have known this prayer since preschool and would be tempted to see this as a free month, consider offering them an additional challenge. A couple things come to mind:
- Earlier this year we gave you a CD which included some basic Latin prayers. Learning the Glory Be would be a great place to start because it’s so short.
Gloria Patri, et Filio, et Spiritui Sancto, Sicut erat in principio, et nunc, et semper, et in saecula saeculorum. Amen.
- Another suggestions is just to bump them up to the big leagues and help your primary school students memorize the 4th-6th grade memory prayer – the Apostles’ Creed. Even if they only learn part of the prayer, it’ll be a great success!
This is a great idea! As we were walking out to the van on Saturday after Family Formation the kids said “Our memory verse is the Glory Be. That’s EASY!” No free passes at the Koop house! 🙂
