Since we studied Baptism earlier this year, it’s only right that we should also study Confirmation. The Catechism of the Catholic Church tells us that the Sacrament of Confirmation completes Baptism and through it, the baptized are more perfectly bound to the Church and we get a special strength from the Holy Spirit.
The activities illustrate these concepts as we begin our lives as spiritual baby, endowed with the “armor” we need to move forward with baby steps as a part of God’s army. Then through Confirmation, we gain the spiritual strength of a full fledged knight, capable of going out to change the world for Christ!
Just a note – even if your kids would typically not be interested in paper dolls, I highly recommend you make one set to demonstrate the armor described in Ephesians 6:10-17. If you have small kids, go through the motions of dressing in each piece as you read the verse. They’ll have fun “putting on their armor” each morning this week.
