It probably isn’t your birthday, but God has some gifts for you!

The seven gifts of the Holy Spirit bestowed upon Christians are wisdom, understanding, counsel, fortitude, knowledge, piety, and fear of the Lord.  CCC 1845

The most perfect picture of these gifts is seen in the example of Christ, but at Baptism we all receive the graces we need to live them out, and then Confirmation increases these gifts.

They make you ready to receive divine inspiration!  They help you fulfill your mission!  They allow you to grow in goodness!  And that’s just the start!

Wisdom: enables one to know the purpose and plan of God

Understanding: so that they can live out the meaning of what they hear, contemplate, and do

Counsel: that he might of his own accord seek his Creator and freely attain his full and blessed perfection by cleaving to him

Fortitude: ensures firmness in difficulties and constancy in doing the good

Knowledge: knowledge of faith

Piety: leads one to devotion to God

Fear of the Lord: ensures our awe and reverence before God
