We are Called to Serve

Calling all Church of Saint Paul families …

The time and talent commitment sheet you picked up after Mass this morning came at the perfect time to become an activity for your Home Lesson on Stewardship this week!  While its primary goal is to inform adults of all the opportunities for parish volunteering, there are still plenty of ways that your teens and even younger kids can get involved.

When we first joined the parish years and years ago we signed up to be on the greeter schedule.  Our little kids were glad to hold the door for people coming in to Mass, and many new faces became familiar ones.  It was a good way for us to help out at that stage in our family life!

Besides helping as greeters, consider some of these other ways your family could get involved:

  • Help assemble holiday food baskets before Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter
  • Help assemble care packages for parishioners in college, military or religious formation
  • Baking for the parish boutique
  • Blessing the church with Holy Water each Saturday
  • Sign up for an hour or adoration
  • Help with the All Saints’ party (Sign ups to help with games are happening RIGHT NOW!)

And these are just some of the possibilities.  There are many areas where the parent can commit and simply have their children assist them.
