Ash Wednesday is one of those events that adults take for granted from year to year. So much so, that it’s easy to forget that your younger kids may not remember it happening at all last year! For that reason, this lesson is a basic review about the symbolism and basic practices of this beginning marker of Lent.
This is a simple lesson, and it’s important that you do it before March 5, but there are some basic activities involving Lenten fasting, and encouragement for each of you to choose your own personal devotion, sacrifice, or reflection for Lenten growth. Doing it before Ash Wednesday will give you time to prepare and take advantage of each of those 40 days of holiness!
