St. Nick’s feast day is December 6 and it’s a super easy way to incorporate the liturgical year into your family celebrations.
- First, you’ll want to start with the story of the real Saint Nicholas. (There are lots more here.)
- Your kids can find lots of online and printable activities to help with your celebration.
- You can also find food ideas, traditions from around the world, and tons of other resources at the St. Nicholas Center site. These people REALLY love St. Nick and are dedicated to spreading it around!

Perhaps most important: your kids will want to put their shoes out on Monday evening for St. Nicholas to fill with surprises. You can find some traditional treat ideas here, and (bonus) my kids’ favorite was getting $1 coins in their shoes which came just in time for a little Christmas spending money.
