- Title: The Action Bible
- Publisher: David C Cook Publishing
- Full Text or Bible Stories – Graphic Novel
- Protestant, Catholic, Good for Either
- Recommended Ages: 8-12 year olds
- Pros:
- The engaging format would help kids become familiar with basic Bible stories
- Dramatic images
- Durable hardcover
- Cons: It seems like it would be outgrown quickly
- Notes: This style is definitely not my personal favorite, but I’m clearly not the target audience. I had it at home over the Thanksgiving holiday and my 8-year-old grandson burned through most of the 700+ pages in that short time.
- Title: The Picture Bible
- Publisher: David C Cook Publishing
- Full Text or Bible Stories – Graphic Novel
- Protestant, Catholic, Good for Either
- Recommended Ages: 8-12 year olds
- Pros:
- Same engaging format
- Durable hardcover
- Holy Heroes has a much more extensive review of this Bible, including an endorsement from Archbishop Fulton Sheen who says “This picture Bible for all ages is an excellent introduction to those who do not know the Bible and an excellent review for those who do.”
- Cons: Same as above
