- Title: My Picture Book of the Bible
- Publisher: Magnificat/Ignatius
- Full Text or Bible Stories
- Protestant, Catholic, Good for Either
- Recommended Ages: Preschoolers
- Pros:
- Fun illustrations by Maïte Roche
- Very sturdy pages – probably as strong as a board book (but flexible)
- Notes:
- Very, very short stories. Really, it’s more pictures than stories.
- Title: The Jesus Storybook Bible
- Publisher: ZonderKidz
- Full Text or Bible Stories
- Protestant, Catholic, Good for Either
- Recommended Ages: Preschoolers and first readers
- Pros:
- This book is my favorite children’s story Bible. Read the page next to the cover above for their perspective on telling the Story. The whole book, from Adam and Eve to Revelation, points to Jesus. It’s a beautiful perspective!
- There’s also a well done audio version available.
- Engaging illustrations and a few surprises (i.e. you have to turn the book sideways to read the very tall tower of Babel story or to see Zacchaeus up high in the tree.)
- Red Flag:
- Page 292 (Last Supper story) says, “My body is like this bread,” and “This cup of wine is like my blood.” I simply took a sharpie to those two “likes” and it’s all good again.
