How’re You Doing?

My last suggestion on learning the Ten Commandments has to do with your ongoing self-assessment.  A major portion of your life as a Christian has to do with seeing how you measure up to the standards laid out in the Commandments, and ending each day by using them as a mental checklist is a good, life-long habit.

If you haven’t been to confession yet this Lent, today would be a fantastic time to put in on your schedule.  It’s likely your parish has expanded opportunities to go in the next couple weeks and the times are probably printed in your bulletin or on your parish web site.  Whether you went last week or haven’t been to confession in years, I strongly recommend you go as a family and associate it with your Home Lesson on Moses.  The Ten Commandments are the best examination of conscience and the work you’ve just done with your Moses lesson are are fantastic preparation.  Call it an assignment if you’d like.
