Just a quick reminder that our February classroom meetings are coming up soon so this would be a good time to double check those memory verses:
An Act of Love
O my God, I love You above all things, with my whole heart and soul, because You are all-good and worthy of all my love. I love my neighbor as myself for the love of You. I forgive all who have injured me, and I ask pardon of all whom I have injured.
And for the K-3 students, just the first part:
O my God, I love You above all things, with my whole heart and soul
Isn’t that beautiful? Such a simple sentence, but reminding ourselves of it daily (or even more often) is the core of one’s spiritual life! And that, my friends, is the beauty of memorization. Filling your mind and heart with Scripture, prayer, uplifting music and beautiful images is like a personal library that you can go back to again and again. They pop into your mind when you need them, and become a reference point for your moral life. Your kids may think they’re memorizing this month’s Act of Love to get a small reward during class time, but in reality the reward has eternal value!
